Privacy Policy
For the Yetera iOS app (1.0). Effective date: October 11, 2026
Yetera is an iOS app provided by Shunyu Yao under the Caelune brand. Personal information controller: Shunyu Yao. Privacy contact: caelune.support@gmail.com.
This policy explains information handled separately through the Yetera app, visits to the website, and emails you choose to send us, and how you can manage that information.
Information handled by the Yetera app
Depending on how you use Yetera, it stores the following on your device:
- Items you add: name, price and currency, category, dates, status, notes, and the reason you chose for wanting it.
- Goals you set and their amounts.
- Some profile and app preferences: nickname, income or hourly rate, default currency, language, appearance, and avatar choice.
- Photos you choose to add for items you bought, and a custom avatar image you select.
- Local reminder identifiers. Yetera schedules on-device notifications, which may show an item name you entered.
Photos stored by Yetera, including item photos and custom avatar images, stay on your device. They are not included in Yetera JSON backups or uploaded by Yetera’s current iCloud sync. This describes Yetera’s own sync and export only: the app does not exclude these photos from iOS/iCloud device backups, which follow Apple’s system backup behaviour and your device settings.
On-device storage, iCloud and Apple services
Core records live in the app's local database. You do not need to register for an account or sign in to use Yetera.
On supported iOS versions, when iCloud is available on the device, Yetera automatically uses the Apple account signed in through iOS Settings to sync selected decisions, goals, and some profile fields to the associated Yetera CloudKit private database. There is no separate in-app sync opt-in. You can manage Yetera’s iCloud access in iOS Settings. The app remains usable locally when iCloud or the network is unavailable, and sync resumes when service returns. After “Clear all data,” sync pauses on this device until you explicitly reconnect. Photos are not uploaded by Yetera’s current sync; this does not exclude them from iOS/iCloud device backups, which follow Apple’s system backup behaviour and your settings. A small set of environment-specific identifier hashes used to coordinate the free-use allowance may also sync through Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Store within your Apple account; these identifiers contain none of the text you write.
Yetera uses Apple StoreKit to read product information and complete or restore the one-time Lifetime purchase. Apple processes payment, and Yetera does not receive your payment card details. The app keeps limited entitlement and free-use state in the device Keychain.
You can export or import a JSON backup through the system file and sharing interfaces. The backup contains decisions, goals, and some profile fields, but no photos or purchase state. After export, the copy is managed by the storage or sharing service you chose; Yetera cannot control its later retention or deletion.
Apple provides CloudKit, iCloud Key-Value Store, StoreKit, and local notifications as system services and handles related service information under its privacy information: Apple Privacy Policy.
Analytics, diagnostics and third parties
Yetera has no ads and integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDK. Yetera does not send your app records to a Yetera-operated server or endpoint.
App Store Connect usage analytics provided by Apple may include metrics such as sessions and crashes. Apple says App Store usage data is collected only from users who agree to share diagnostics and usage information with developers. TestFlight is a separate beta-distribution service: TestFlight testers automatically share crash logs with developers, and developers can view beta session and crash metrics in App Store Connect. If you choose to submit a TestFlight screenshot or written feedback, Apple makes your submission and the related tester, app-version, and device information shown in the feedback view available to the developer. These statements apply separately to App Store analytics, TestFlight beta metrics, and tester-submitted feedback; they do not mean Yetera integrates its own analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
Website visits and email contact
The website is hosted by GitHub Pages. The website source does not include Yetera advertising or analytics scripts, and does not load remote fonts or CDN resources. GitHub says it logs and stores visitors' IP addresses for security when they visit GitHub Pages sites. This is hosting-level access logging, separate from purchase decisions, goals, profile information, or photos in the Yetera app. See GitHub Pages and the GitHub Privacy Statement.
If you choose to email caelune.support@gmail.com, we receive your sender address, message, attachments, and any information you choose to include. We use it only to reply and to investigate or handle support and privacy questions. The address uses Gmail; Google provides email transmission and storage services under its Privacy Policy. Please do not email passwords, payment credentials, or other sensitive information we do not need.
Website visits and emails you choose to send us are not automatically added to your Yetera app records and are not thereby sent to a Yetera app backend.
Retention and deletion
Local app records stay on your device until you delete them, use “Clear all data,” or remove the app, subject to iOS behaviour as well.
- You can delete individual records or goals in the app.
- “Clear all data” (Profile → Data & backup) clears items, history, goals, your vault balance, and local photos on this device. It does not delete records already synced to iCloud. Sync pauses on this device, and you can explicitly choose to reconnect later.
- Deleting an individual synced record creates a sync deletion event that propagates through sync.
- Exported backup copies are managed by you and the storage or sharing service you chose.
- Purchase records are managed by Apple. “Clear all data” does not clear the entitlement state kept on this device.
Support emails and attachments are stored in the Gmail mailbox that receives messages sent to this address. We retain them for no more than six months after the matter is resolved, then delete copies under our control, unless applicable law requires longer retention. Copies Google retains under its own legal or system processes are handled under Google’s policies.
Your choices and privacy requests
On supported versions, Yetera automatically syncs selected data when iCloud is available. You can review sync status in the app and manage Yetera’s iCloud access in iOS Settings. After clearing local data, reconnecting requires your explicit confirmation. You can also manage decision reminders, create and delete app records, and choose whether to export or import a backup.
For privacy requests about support email or other personal information, including requests to access, correct, or delete it, contact caelune.support@gmail.com. We will verify and handle requests under applicable rules. You can also delete app records on your device as described above; clearing this device does not also delete records already in iCloud.
